Technical Tips for Small Nonprofits and Social Change Groups:
Purchase a Voter Database Over the Web

This is a new area and as far as we know there is only one company offering this service nationally: VoterListsOnline.com They are a division of Aristotle, Inc. If you would like to obtain information for a municipal campaign, however, your best source is your local election commission, who will usually make the information available to you as a set of diskettes or on a zip disk, for a nominal cost.

The commercially available databases have the advantage of providing you with voter history, in addition to address and phone number. However, the locally obtained data may be more up-to-date.

Note: software and services for processing local campaign data is available from commercial firms, but it is expensive. Some examples of companies providing software and services are Voter Access and Adjutant Software (which specializes in campaign database products for FL, GA, KY, and PA.
